GRP
Fiberglass reinforced polyester
Fiberglass reinforced polyester is a lightweight, high-strength, abrasion-resistant and durable plastic composite. This fiberglass composite carries a Class 1 (or A) fire rating making it suitable for use in a wide range of architectural applications. It can be produced in almost any shape and with smooth, grained, perforated or textured surfaces, offering architects great design flexibility.
GRP® composition offers some unique advantages to architects and designers by providing the ability to fabricate large parts of any shape and size, which would otherwise require more expensive support structures and increased installation costs (compared to other materials such as precast concrete).
Of course, in most construction applications it is more practical to use components of a more modest size while taking into account initial mold costs, shipping, handling, and assembly methods to achieve optimized project costs.
